André 3000 Remembers Pimp C being mad at him over his International Players Anthem verse.

On A recent episode of The Shop, 3k recalls, “Rest in peace Pimp [C], but I got a [funny] story about that,” André said when co-host Paul Rivera He was asked about his poem.Pimp The beat was sent to me and I had written my verse and put down my words, and then I removed the beat for me to rap.

“When I sent them back the original. Pimp was like, ‘F*ck this muthaf*cka, man! This n-gga done goddamn took my beat out! Who the f*ck he think he is?!’ So He was furious at my decision to take over the beat. [out].

He continued: “I don’t know if it was Bun [B] or somebody, they were like, ‘Nah, but you don’t understand, when that beat drop, though, it sets it off.’ So it’s almost like a set-up. So it worked, and once he got that, he was like, ‘Okay, okay.’ But he was so mad at me.”

HipHopDX noted that A&R Jeff Sledge Recalled, “when André sent his piece back and had no drums, [Pimp C] was pissed off,” He explained.He was like ‘Fuck André, man! How The fuck, is he going send my shitback and take my drums away? Fuck that.’ He The alarm was going off André taking the drums out.

“I was like, ‘ChadHold on fam. Let’s When you rock out like that, André doing a capella and then when the beat drops, that’s when your verse drops. And Your verse will raise the record, because the beat is now rocking and you are kicking.

“And he’s like, ‘Alright, Jeff. I’m gonna give it a shot. If it fucks up, it’s on you.'”
