The industry ministry announced Monday that Korea would seek to quickly restore frayed bilateral relations with Japan. It will do this by temporarily suspending a dispute settlement process with World Trade Organization (WTO). After years of conflict over Japan’s ban on exports of key materials used in the manufacture of computer chips, relations between the two countries have been deteriorating. Korea is Korea’s largest growth driver industry and accounts for around a fifth its total exports.
