Michigan State Mel Tucker has begun the process to fire him for cause. a sexual harassment investigation.
MSU Athletic Director Alan Haller issued a statement outlining the process of firing.
“I, with the support of administration and board, have provided Mel Tucker with written notice of intent to terminate his contract for cause. As part of his contract, this notification is mandatory. The notice provides Tucker with seven calendar days to respond and present reasons to me and the interim president as to why he should not be terminated for cause.”

Tucker claims that his relationship with Brenda Tracy was a private matter.

Brenda Tracy, who is a sexual assault victim and works frequently with sports teams to train them on sexual violence, filed the complaint.
Tucker is alleged to have masturbated while on a call with Tracy in April 2022, making lewd remarks about her. The pair previously had established a working relationship, with Tracy speaking to Tucker’s team twice and serving as an honorary captain at the Spartans’ spring game in April 2022.
The allegations were made public on September 10, Tucker has been suspended without pay by Michigan State.
Tucker has denied any wrongdoing A university hearing will begin on Oct. 5 to discuss the issue.
