Roc Nation Co-President Shari Bryant She knows how to stay on her heels and work hard to get to the top. The HarlemBorn in New York, grew up with the same family as Dame DashShe began her career working as an intern at Roc-A-Fella Records In 1999, I was 16 years old.  Working With the Roc She realized her dream of working in the music business full-time. On This episode is about XXL‘s Inside Track In this podcast, she talks about her journey of becoming a boss from an intern.

“I was just excited to be a part of what was going on,” Shari Tells XXL Her early years Roc-a-Fella. “I didn’t realize it was such a business behind it. I was just a fan of the videos and watching all the fly outfits. And then going into the office I’m like, Oh, this is how this all works and comes together. Just being a part of that, I didn’t realize I was stepping into history at all.”

After After the label was disbanded she matriculated into marketing roles at Island Def Jam, Atlantic Records, Warner Bros. A general manager role at Alamo Records Then, landing the co-president role at Roc Nation the label in 2019, a position she’s held for a half-decade alongside Omar Grant. At Roc NationShe is responsible for boosting the talent pool at the label and enhancing the opportunities available to clients. Hov’s The media conglomerate includes music careers of Rihanna, J. Cole, Rapsody, Vic Mensa Others.

With The future of the Roc Nation label under her direction, Shari The goal is to build superstars starting from the very beginning.

“That’s a big part of having an artist [over the company] that really modeled his career off of that,” Shari ” Jay’s The impact of career on the mentality of the imprint “I think that’s why we have the autonomy to operate that way. That we can sign things that we really believe in. [Jay-Z] understands the time it takes to build a superstar because he was in that position himself.”
