Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart reunited for a festive industrial.
The Just Friends stars filmed an advert for Reynolds’ Aviation Gin in a inexperienced display room, designed to seem like a house adorned for Christmas.
The two-minute spot sees the actors seemingly reprise their roles of Chris Brander and Jamie Palamino from the 2005 rom-com a few man who makes it out of the friendzone 10 years after confessing his love for his finest good friend.
“Oh, hey, honey, I was just looking at the tree. Nothing like the smell of real pine,” Reynolds tells his onscreen spouse firstly of the industrial. “Oh, I love our pine tree,” she replies. “How was work?” he asks her. “Mm, I’ve had better days. The bar ran out of Aviation American Gin,” she says whereas holding a bottle of Reynolds’ gin. “Oh no, that’s so bad. That’s terrible. They ran out of Aviation American Gin,” the Deadpool actor responds earlier than Smart asks to chop.
When she tells him the state of affairs is bizarre, he explains that the inexperienced display room will seem like their dwelling in post-production, full with decorations and their Christmas tree. They choose it up once more after she walks in from work and Reynolds reacts way more dramatically, shouting “fuck” when she tells him they ran out of his gin.
“That was a big reaction,” Smart says, to which The Adam Project actor replies, “Well, it’s been 18 years. I think the characters have changed a bit, so I’m sort of playing it like that in my head.”
The Stargirl actress then factors out how she would have gotten a bottle of the gin from work if her bar ran out, and Reynolds explains that she picked on up on the way in which dwelling from one in every of their “many well-respected retail partners.”
“So this is a stupid ad for your gin company,” she asks him. In true Reynolds style, he responds sarcastically, “Well, let’s not rush to judgment before all the facts are in. I mean, this is a self-funded sequel, predicated on a loose interpretation of IP law.”
